Health Insurance Reform

Over the last decade, health insurance costs have doubled for California families and small businesses After so many years of failed leadership, it’s time for action. I believe we need reform that makes health insurance more affordable and more accessible for all Californians.

Right now families and businesses of all sizes are paying too high a price for our broken health care system. I firmly believe that our broken health care system must be fixed, because too many families and businesses are seeing their premiums rise – year after year, and many more are one illness away from declaring bankruptcy over medical bills. I firmly believe that our broken health care system must be fixed, especially as soaring health care costs put American companies at a competitive disadvantage in a global economy.

That’s what any health care reform out of Washington must do; that’s why I would have voted for the health care reform bill that passed this year; and that’s what I’ll fight for in Congress as we implement reform going forward.
